Say a pilot works Sun , Mon , Reserve at home Tue( and not called), works Wed ,Thur, Fri Sat and is due for day off Sun.
The crewing dept of the airline call on the morning of the Sunday day off and asks if the pilot can work that day. They say that CASA allows them to change the Tue reserve to a day off on the roster retrospectively. The pilot then works that day( the second Sunday)
Is this allowed under CAO 48.1 para 1.12 ?

Dear colleagues,

I'm supposed to write a theoretical study about an Implementation of IFR procedures at an Uncontrolled Airports in the Czech Republic. During my ATPL frozen training, I've met these kinds of procedures only in Germany. Please, can you give me some tips for other countries which have this specialty or where can I find procedures for this states? I found this procedures for Germany in their AIP-ENR 1.8. I heard that there is more states like Germany having these special airports, but I can find them. I was searching in other countries AIP, but I didn't succeed. If you have some experiences with these airports and procedures I would be very thankful for it. I'm really interested in it.

What is going on in Europe?! SAS, Air Berlin,Cargolux, SN Brussels, Iberia and even the big ones like Lufthansa and AF/KLMare strugeling or are close to bankruptcy. Something is very wrong in the old continent….Or is the globalized world ill as such? Who are the competitors to this well established and more or less “union friendly” airlines? The Middle East comes to mind. Airlines like EK, EY or QR?? This carriers are subsidized by their states and their aim is to get market shares for whatever it will cost and money is not an issue here. They are subsidized and don’t have to care about how to make money and they also don´t have to worry about labor law and/or human rights. It´s modern slavery for the ones who decided to work there or just had no other choice in order to feed their families. So the question is: Is the European government watching their own industry going down the drain or will they establish some mechanism to protect their own economy like reducing slots for certain airlines which are subsidized by their state of registry??

Currently studying for UK ATPL and I'm really struggling to retain the Air Law & Ops procedures info. I got to a point where i could answer questions to 80%, then when I came back to it after a month I'd forgotten half of it! :ugh:

Anyone got any clues as to how to find someone to unlock a "Coral 1030"?

This is a who-knows-what badge-engineered for Digicel of Jamaica; now that I'm no longer in Jamaica it would be nice to have the phone unlocked so I can actually continue to use it, but I can't find anyone who knows what it really is and thus how to unlock it?

Was wondering if anyone on here could offer any advice

i left EK as cabin crew approx 12 weeks ago as after 7 years i had enough

retention money was supposed to be credited by bank transfer between 8-10 weeks

if any issues was told to contact the email eosretmon@emirates.com



After ten weeks i sent email to eosretmon@emirates.com, the email was ignored

3 days later i sent another email and received the email below

After a further 4 working days with no reply i sent another email, this was again ignored

2 days ago i sent a more forceful email to both ccsc@emirates.com (cabin crew service centre) and eosretmon@emirates.com, i have yet to receive a reply.

so thats 4 emails and 1 response from a mystery eric

any opinions or ideas on how to procede?

3G & 4G Wireless - Losing connection

I gave up on ADSL due to the age and capacity of the copper phone lines, engineers suggested I go wireless instead. Have a 3G and 4G both very good most of the time but come 15.30 I still have an excellent connection but cannot access the internet, I put it down to the kids coming out of school and opening up on their iPads, iPhones etc. as it goes on until around 19.00, does this sound likely? As I already get an excellent signal a booster may not be the answer, can anyone offer suggestions on what the problem most likely is and how to fix it please?

Dubai: An ex-flight attendant is demanding an apology and refund from Emirates airline for offloading her because of an itch.

Canadian Rasouleh Kazerouni was travelling business class to Prague with her fiancé on November 29 to celebrate their engagement when she was taken off the plane. Ironically, it was the same airline she worked for five years. Both Kazerouni and her fiancé are privileged cardholders and were treated well until she developed an itch.

I recently witnessed an atrocious landing (we all have our bad ones) by a REX crew at Grafton, NSW. The thing that makes this one stand out in my mind is the poor decision making which lead to the equally poor touchdown.

The approach was made from the south with a 7 - 10 KT southerly blowing. Those familiar with Grafton will be aware of the considerable slope down towards the North.

the aircraft rolled considerably due to the turbulence on late final and floated like a cork until its eventual touchdown at least two thirds of the way down the strip. The only impressive part of the event is that the crew actually managed to prevent an over-run. It was clear that the aircraft still had a great deal of momentum when turning to backtrack.

The only reason I am posting this is to ask, "how does a crew allow a situation like this to occur without making an early decision to modify their original intentions" surely the writing was on the wall for them when observing the prevailing conditions.
